I’m taking a break from the blog for a few weeks to try to catch up on some other projects — notably the course I’m doing to earn a CELTA certificate in English language teaching. Online teaching is challenging and takes a huge amount of preparation, and so I think I’d better focus on that for the time being. But I’ll be back sometime in June for more reading adventures.
Take care of yourselves!
Bon séjour! Au mois prochain! CELTA? Bonne chance! 🙂
Merci! J’en ai besoin…
Good luck. Look forward to your return, and maybe a report on your experiences?
Sure!
In this time of uncertainty, it’s good to know where someone is if she disappears online for a while.
I’m still here, keeping a low profile. 🙂
All the very best, Lory – especially with the CELTA. I look forward to seeing you back in June.
Thanks Paula!
Enjoy your time away, stay safe!
Thanks, it is good to be occupied with something positive.
Hope that all goes well for you! Take care & looking forward to reading your posts again in June.
Thanks, I think June will be here before we know it.
Good luck for your certificate! I’ve been teaching French online for 2 years, so I know what you are talking about, time wise. Then maybe we can connect about our possible readalong of Foundation
Yes, I am still looking forward to that. I had a new idea though to read only French during the month of July — maybe you would like to buddy read something for that too? Foundation would be postponed then…
I’m totally open to that! any author you have in mind? classic, modern?
These are the books I’ve collected so far –
L’Etranger – Camus
If any of those is of interest let me know! If you would be up for reading the classic L’étranger I could probably use some motivation to get me through that one. I am very open to other suggestions too – once the bookstores are open again I can shop for others (better for me to have physical books so I can mark them up)
d’accord, contacte moi quand tu veux concrétiser nos plans
Oh, what a great thing to do! Best of luck with the course. Indeed, online teaching is tricky stuff.
Ugh, it’s the technical difficulties that get me down. Teaching itself presents much less of a problem.
Well, good luck and we’ll be here waiting for your return!
Thanks, I will look forward to that.
Makes total sense! I hope your break is restful and lovely!
Thanks Jenny!
Have a good break! I did a similar course back in 2015. Teaching in a classroom was hard enough for me. Hope all goes smoothly for you.
Thanks Jenna – I am learning a lot, that’s for sure!
Best of luck with your class and certification! I’m sure you will be an awesome teacher.
Thank you Lark! I think I will enjoy it, if I can find some opportunities to teach. Things are so uncertain now but we just have to keep trying to find our way.
What a fantastic reason to take a break! We’ll miss you, of course, but best of luck with the course and we’ll see you when you return triumphant! ❤️
Thanks Sheree, I do hope so.
Good luck on your CELTA certificate! We will all be here when you get back!
Thanks Brittany, I look forward to that.
Ho Lory, thanks for taking the time to comment on my blog. I’ve just subscribed to you via email. Enjoy your break. 🙂
Thank you Carol.
I’m always impressed by people who manage to announce their breaks instead of just disappearing! I hope you’re enjoying your time away and that all your preparation is going well 🙂
Thanks, I’ll be back soon.
