I didn’t do much reading in April, and no actual reviews … just too busy. Now I’m back from vacation, I’ve moved into temporary housing till we leave for Switzerland, and things are settling into a new pattern. I’m still busy with lots of packing and sorting, and saying farewell; my energy for thinking in a consequential manner, let alone blogging, is sorely limited.
So things may be a bit thin here for a while, but bear with me! As you can read in The Future of ECBR, I do plan to stick around and have some new and exciting ideas. And I’m always delighted to connect with you, through your comments or on your own blogs. Thanks for staying in touch.

Looks a lot like comfort reading, just the ticket when things are a bit topsy-turvy at the moment! At least I hope it helps with establishing control over events, always crucial when life is in flux.
I’ve succumbed to acquiring a copy of the Robin Hobb, now all I’ve got to do is read it! Alcott’s fiction has yet to find a slot in my reading schedule, but some day, I’ve promised myself. And of course GGK, who I follow on Twitter.

Yep, comfort reading is about all I can manage at the moment. I found the framing device that opens Assassin’s Apprentice a little clumsy and slow, but once I got into the main story I was hooked. Hope you like it too.

We are moving in July so the pack/sort/throw/donate is a big theme here. I am loading up the car this weekend to take another big load to donate tomorrow. Good luck and happy reading! Switzerland – fun.

I’ve been thinking of re-reading The Pinhoe Egg myself! Or maybe Conrad’s Fate.
Though I’m not in the middle of moving my entire life to a different country, I too am feeling overwhelmed and unable to read much heavy material or blog. Just a couple more weeks until the end of the semester…

It’s going well but I had to take some time off from work to manage. I actually enjoy the process when I can take the time to really look at everything and make decisions about what to keep. Life doesn’t stand still and neither should we, but stuff builds up because we are preoccupied with other things. Anyway, it will al work out. Thanks for stopping by!

I’m sorry it never worked out with the Betsy-Tacy group. When I was working full time it was just too much. At the moment I’m taking some time off and thinking of trying to arrange one more New England book blogger outing. Or, I may be back before too long, who knows!

Moving is so much work and takes so much energy. Glad to see you were able to read in April with everything else you had going. I’m dreading moving someday, but trying to make it easier by sorting and tossing/donating slowly now. It’s so difficult to part with my books, so for now they bring me joy and get to stay.

The more you can do before the big moving push the better. I really want to lead a more minimalist life from now on, but we’ll see how it goes.
