Library book meme linky

Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Claire of The Captive Reader and Linda from Silly Little Mischief that encourages bloggers to share books they’ve checked out from the library. If you’d like to participate, check out those blogs on Wednesdays to link up your post.

At the moment I have:

The Penelopiad by Margaret Atwood
I’m planning to count this for the Once Upon a Time challenge in the Myth category.

The Golem and the Djinni by Helen Wecker
Another Once Upon a Time read, for Folklore.

Brown Girl Dreaming by Jacqueline Woodson
I recommend the audiobook version of Woodson reading her own memoir-in-verse.

How To Be a Victorian by Ruth Goodman
This “dawn to dusk guide to Victorian life,” by an author who has really tried to live said life, is fascinating and entertaining.

Violins of Hope by James A. Grymes
I’ve been meaning to read this since it was recommended last year in Nonfiction November.

What do you have out from the library this week?

I one day hope to finally read The Penelopiad by Margaret Atwood! You got lots of goodies this week! Enjoy your loot! 😀

    • I'm so glad I read it! I'm not sure I would have if I hadn't been trying to read most of the contenders in the SLJ Battle of the Books.

  2. I really enjoyed both The Penelopiad and Brown Girl Dreaming. I completely forgot I wanted to read How to Be A Victorian, so thanks for the reminder!

  3. I've read part of How to Be Victorian, and it really is fascinating. I love books that take me into the minutiae of another time and/or place.
