Wonderful list, Lory! Several of these are books I want to read (Hild, the 2 DWJ books, and All of a Kind Family, which I'm embarrassed to say I've never read.) And of course I love Mary Stewart's books! I will have to check out a few of the others.

I was so glad to finally read All of a Kind Family this year, a book that just passed me by somehow.

This is an interesting list. You're books didn't really overlap with other lists, which is nice because it gives me more to add to my TBR list. 🙂

I used to read more current releases, but this year I've tended to read older books. I'll get to the new ones eventually. . .

I like your categories idea – I may have to steal that for another time. I do want to branch out of contemporary fiction – the Advance Review Copies completely took over this year. Still, I think we've both struck very lucky with our reading this year 🙂

Yes, I'm glad I branched out in some new directions this year.

I've been wanting to read Hild but was on the fence–you may have just pushed me over to the "must-read-this" side. You know, just as soon as I find more hours in a day. Great list!

It took me a long time because it required a certain degree of attention that I don't always have available. Hope you can find the time though — it's worth it.

That's a wonderful list. I loved My Brother Michaels, and, though I haven't read those books. I love Trollope and Thirkell

I found so many books and authors through other blogs, including Mary Stewart and Angela Thirkell. I'm looking forward to Margery Sharp Day in 2015.
